Motor & Home Sales Team Leader

 Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

With regards to the Motor & Home Sales Team:

  • Generate quotations for short-term insurance policies and other products introduced by the company.
  • Manage the quotation and sales process with professionalism, integrity, and product knowledge.
  • Ensure adherence to the call centres House Rules and compliance standards.
  • Oversee and optimise all lead sources (referrals, cross-sell, etc.).
  • Monitor performance through call reviews, reports, and quality checks.
  • Coach staff on objection handling and conversion strategies.
  • Manage team discipline (login/logout times, breaks, adherence to schedules).
  • Improve lead-to-quote and quote-to-sale conversion ratios.
  • Ensure high-quality lead transfers with minimal errors and strong script adherence.
  • Conduct coaching, skills training, and development sessions.
  • Share insights and strategies to continuously enhance team effectiveness.
  • Run motivational incentives and build strong team spirit.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Sales Support team to address performance gaps.

Qualifications Required

  • Minimum NQF 4: Grade 12 or a relevant tertiary qualification
  • Regulatory Examination Certificate 5 (RE5)
  • A full qualification in Short-Term Insurance (FAIS)
  • Compliance with FAIS Fit & Proper criteria (experience, competency requirements, and CPD)

Experience and Skills Required

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Team Leader in a call centre sales environment, managing a team to exceed targets (non-negotiable)
  • Minimum 2 years experience managing short-term insurance sales (non-negotiable)
  • Strong knowledge of short-term insurance and warranty products, including relevant regulations
  • Proven success in short-term insurance sales and services
  • Experience in managing high-performance, compliance-driven environments
  • Ability to analyse and interpret large data sets with attention to detail
  • Strong sales coaching and performance management skills
  • Ability to motivate, support, and hold agents accountable through courageous conversations
