Candidate Fire Engineer
Job Description:
As a Candidate Fire Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining fire protection systems in accordance with local and national codes and regulations. This includes conducting site surveys, performing risk assessments, and creating detailed engineering plans.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits and assessments to determine fire protection requirements
- Design and develop fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and suppression systems
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate fire safety measures
- Perform inspections and maintenance of fire protection systems
- Stay up to date with industry developments and advancements in fire protection technology
- Manage project budgets and timelines
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and clients
Requirements
- SAQCC certification (handheld and detection)
- Valid driver's license
- 3–5 years' experience as a Fire Technician or Supervisor
- Strong technical knowledge of fire protection systems
- Familiarity with various systems and products
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- Experience with implementation and compliance with relevant legislation
