IT Systems and Application Analyst

 Job Description:

Responsibilities

The role will include but is not limited to:

  • Analyse, maintain, and support enterprise applications, including ERP, CRM, HR systems, and other business-critical tools.
  • Collaborate with users and stakeholders to gather and document system requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolutions with internal teams or external vendors.
  • Conduct system upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Assist in the implementation and rollout of new applications and systems, including testing, training, and support.
  • Support data integrity, data migration, and integration between systems using APIs, ETL tools, or scripting.
  • Ensure applications meet compliance, security, and performance standards.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated helpdesk issues related to enterprise systems and applications.
  • Provide day-to-day systems support and issue resolution.
  • Configure appropriate system access to optimize controls.
  • Manage and support project teams to implement new systems and update existing ones.
  • Test internal processes and procedures.
  • Deliver system training.
  • Review current systems/interfaces, forms, and procedures, and propose solutions to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
  • Support the Systems Manager in ensuring that internal controls are fit for purpose, enforced, measured, monitored, and improved where applicable.
  • Collaborate with managers to design and develop internal and external management reports to better inform the business.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders and system developers as required.

Requirements

  • Degree in commerce, business, accounting, or IT.
  • Systems development and application systems experience.
  • Broad experience and knowledge of accounting systems.
  • ERP system experience.
  • Experience working in project and BAU (Business as Usual) environments.
  • Property industry experience advantageous.
  • Ability to collaborate with and train other staff.
  • Advanced Excel and computer software skills.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in IT systems or application analysis/support.
  • Experience with enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL), reporting tools, and integration tools.

Skills

  • Up-to-date knowledge of current trends and practices relating to IT applications.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to identify and respond to emerging issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage conflict and maintain good relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent literacy and effective written communication skills.
  • Scripting or programming experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to manage a demanding workload, including conflicting priorities.
