Generator & Transformer Supervisor
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of technicians and electricians responsible for the operation and maintenance of generators and transformers.
- Develop and implement scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
- Monitor system performance, diagnose faults, and implement timely repairs to reduce equipment downtime.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source required tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
- Conduct thorough inspections to detect potential technical issues and implement early corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and internal operational standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including service logs and maintenance reports.
- Train, guide, and support technical staff on best practices and standard procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure uninterrupted operations and power availability.
- Keep current with industry developments and recommend improvements or upgrades to existing systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Trade-tested Electrician with a valid 3-Phase Wiremans License (mandatory).
- A technical qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering is advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the maintenance and operation of generators and transformers.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergencies.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transport required.
