Job Description:
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
A dynamic and experienced Retail Store Manager is sought to lead a retail team and drive store success. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in achieving sales targets, delivering outstanding customer service, and effectively managing daily store operations. Key expectations include minimizing risk and stock losses, maintaining exceptional store standards, and leading a motivated team to exceed business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive and grow sales by delivering world-class customer service.

Maintain high customer service standards at all times.

Ensure store presentation and merchandising meets company standards, including accurate pricing, effective stock promotion, and product availability.

Support stock management processes, including receiving, stock counts, and monitoring expiry dates.

Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team while promoting a positive, value-driven work culture.

Oversee cash management processes such as float preparation, daily banking, and cashier support.

Manage team performance through coaching, training, and performance evaluation.

Enforce and maintain health, hygiene, and food safety standards.

Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvements.

Supervise daily store operations, including opening/closing and security.

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification required; tertiary qualification is an advantage.

35 years' experience in a retail store or assistant management role, preferably in the FMCG industry.

Demonstrated success in meeting sales goals and delivering excellent customer service.

Sound knowledge of store operations, merchandising, and inventory control.

Valid drivers license; own vehicle preferred.
