Marketing Officer

 Job Description:

Role Overview

The Marketing Officer is responsible for building and managing The Company's brand presence, digital footprint, and marketing communications. The Marketing Officer owns the company website, content planning, social media presence, and visual marketing materials, supporting the Business Development Managers pipeline and client acquisition strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Brand and Visual Identity

  • Develop and maintain The Company brand guidelines (logo usage, colours, typography, tone of voice).
  • Ensure consistent brand application across all touchpoints including proposals, presentations, signage, PPE branding and vehicle livery.
  • Design or commission marketing collateral including company profiles, project sheets, capability statements and event materials.
  • Manage The Company's visual asset library (project photography, drone footage, time-lapse videos).

Digital Marketing and Website

  • Manage The Company website including content updates, SEO optimisation and performance monitoring.
  • Develop and execute the social media strategy across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and other relevant platforms.
  • Create regular content including project updates, team spotlights, industry insights and company news.
  • Monitor social media analytics and adjust strategy based on engagement data.
  • Manage online reputation and respond to public-facing enquiries.

Content Planning and Communications

  • Develop the annual content calendar aligned with the company's business development pipeline and project milestones.
  • Write and edit marketing copy including website content, social media posts, newsletters, press releases and articles.
  • Coordinate internal communications including staff announcements, event invitations and company updates.
  • Produce the company newsletter (frequency to be agreed with BDM).

Tender and Proposal Support

  • Support the Sales & Tender team with the visual presentation and formatting of tender submissions.
  • Maintain The Companys project portfolio and case study library for use in proposals.
  • Design and produce presentation materials for client meetings, tender adjudications and industry events.

Events and Industry Engagement

  • Coordinate company participation in industry events, exhibitions, conferences and networking forums.
  • Plan and execute company events including site launches, handover ceremonies, open days and team-building events (in collaboration with HR).
  • Manage promotional merchandise and branded items.

Marketing Analytics and Reporting

  • Track and report on marketing KPIs including website traffic, social media reach, lead generation and brand awareness metrics.
  • Produce monthly marketing reports for the BDM.
  • Manage the marketing budget and provide cost-effectiveness analysis on marketing spend.
  • Research market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities in the construction sector.

Minimum Education and/or Experience (Essential Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media or related field (NQF Level 6 minimum).
  • Minimum 3 years marketing experience, preferably in construction, engineering, property or professional services.
  • Strong graphic design capability (Adobe Creative Suite or Canva proficiency required).
  • Website management experience (WordPress or similar CMS).
  • Social media management experience with proven content creation skills.
