Our client is seeking an experienced 3D Laser Scanning Technician to conduct laser scanning surveys, process survey data and produce accurate three-dimensional models and point clouds for a range of projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for both fieldwork and data processing, working closely with design and project teams to ensure that all deliverables meet the required technical standards and project specifications.

This role requires practical experience using laser scanning equipment and specialist software, strong knowledge of surveying and mapping principles, and the ability to produce accurate and reliable technical outputs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laser scanning surveys at client and project sites.
• Set up and operate laser scanning equipment safely and accurately.
• Process and analyse data collected during laser scanning surveys.
• Register, clean and manage point-cloud data.
• Create accurate 3D models and point clouds for project use.
• Review captured data to identify gaps, inconsistencies or quality concerns.
• Collaborate with design and project teams to understand technical requirements.
• Ensure completed models and data outputs meet project specifications.
• Provide technical support and laser scanning expertise to project teams.
• Maintain, inspect and calibrate laser scanning equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment use, calibration and maintenance.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and project documentation.
• Present findings and technical information to clients and stakeholders when required.
• Remain informed about developments in laser scanning equipment, software and industry practices.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures and site requirements.
• Travel to project sites as required.

Minimum Requirements

• At least three years of practical experience in laser scanning and 3D modelling.
• Experience conducting laser scanning surveys in field or project environments.
• Proficiency in laser scanning equipment and data-processing software.
• Experience using software such as Leica Cyclone, FARO Scene and Autodesk ReCap.
• Strong understanding of surveying and mapping principles.
• Experience creating, processing and managing point clouds.
• Ability to produce accurate 3D models and technical deliverables.
• Knowledge of applicable safety procedures and best practices.
• Willingness and ability to travel to project sites when required.
