Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate 3D civil and structural models in Revit
• Model structural concrete, steel, foundations, slabs, walls, columns, beams, stairs, etc.
• Generate plans, elevations, sections and details from the BIM model.
• Take accurate site measurements when required
• Maintain drawing standards, annotations, dimensions and schedules.
• Ensure drawings accurately reflect the latest engineering design.
• Maintain drawing registers and document control
• Work closely with civil/structural engineers, technicians and project managers.
• Attend project coordination meetings when required.
• Communicate modelling problems and missing information promptly.
• Interpreting survey information and incorporating it into technical drawings and 3D models
• Coordinate with external consultants and contractors where appropriate.
• Extracting schedules from project models for Bills of Materials (BOMs).

Requirements

• Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent
• Certificate or Diploma in Draughting (Multi-Disciplinary)
• Further training in draughting / BIM modelling / Revit / AutoCAD etc.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit
• 2-3 years' work experience in Revit
• Drivers Licence
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Advantages

• Concrete reinforcement detailing including bending schedules, experience in Revit would be a big advantage
• Structural steel detailing. Experience in preparing 2D GA drawings form a Revit 3D model.
• Experience with 3D point clouds and Recap
• Experience in the mining and heavy industrial sectors
