Business Development Specialist
Job Description:
Role Summary
Support the Business Development Manager to drive business growth by identifying, developing, and progressing new construction and infrastructure business opportunities. The role focuses on market research, lead generation, client engagement, and supporting sales and tender activities to convert opportunities into secured projects. Consistent generation and progression of qualified opportunities that contribute to a healthy sales/project pipeline and support revenue and growth targets.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Business Management, Marketing, or related
- 3–5 years' experience in business development, sales support, or project acquisition within the construction/infrastructure sector
- Working knowledge of construction tendering, procurement processes, and project lifecycles
- Ability to engage professionally with contractors, consultants, and clients
What You'll Be Responsible For
Business Development Support & Opportunity Generation
- Identify and research potential construction/infrastructure opportunities aligned to The Companys strategic focus
- Support lead generation through market research, industry platforms, and networking
- Assist with qualification of opportunities before escalation to the Business Development Manager
Client Engagement & Relationship Support
- Support initial client engagements, meetings, and follow-ups
- Maintain regular communication with prospective and existing clients under guidance
- Assist in building and maintaining long-term professional relationships
Sales, Proposal & Tender Support
- Support preparation of proposals, tenders, and capability statements
- Coordinate inputs required for bids in collaboration with Sales & Tender teams
- Assist with compliance documentation and submission readiness
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Conduct competitor, sector, and market research
- Provide insights/reports to inform strategic decision-making
- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and engagements on CRM systems
Administration & Coordination
- Maintain up-to-date opportunity pipelines and trackers
- Prepare reports, presentations, and briefing notes for the Business Development Manager
- Ensure documentation is accurate, professional, and compliant with company standards
