A leading plastics manufacturer in Dallas is hiring a Freight Director to oversee and optimize their North American and international freight operations. This hybrid role is perfect for a senior-level transportation expert who can take ownership of ocean, air, and domestic freightincluding drayage and distribution logisticswhile collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and global partners.
What Youll Do:
- Lead end-to-end transportation strategy for ocean and air freight, including container drayage from ports to distribution centers

Manage domestic distribution transport operations across the U.S., including fleet relationships and third-party carriers

Partner with manufacturing, procurement, and warehousing teams to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery

Optimize freight spend and carrier performance across modes and regions

Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements

Oversee vendor negotiations, contracts, and performance metrics for all transportation providers
What Were Looking For:

8+ years of experience in freight and transportation leadership within manufacturing or distribution-heavy industries

Expertise in managing air and ocean freight, with deep knowledge of drayage and international logistics

Experience overseeing domestic distribution and transport to warehouses or end customers

Proven ability to reduce freight spend while improving reliability and speed

Strong understanding of customs compliance, Incoterms, and freight forwarding operations

Excellent communication and vendor management skills

Background in plastics, chemicals, or industrial manufacturing is an asset
