About the job (Shipping Line) General Manager (GM)
Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee overall business operations of the Shipping Line in Thailand, including commercial, operations, documentation, and finance functions.

Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve company goals, profitability, and growth.

Manage relationships with key customers, shipping agents, port authorities, terminals, and business partners.

Supervise and provide direction to department heads and ensure cross-functional alignment.

Monitor market trends, competitors, and industry regulations to identify business opportunities and risks.

Represent the company in meetings, negotiations, and corporate events with local and overseas stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with international shipping standards, local laws, and company policies.

Report business performance and provide recommendations to the Board of Directors / Regional Office.
Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration, Logistics, International Business, or related field.

At least 10 years of experience in Shipping Line / Freight Forwarding / Logistics, with minimum 5 years in a senior management role.

Strong knowledge of shipping operations, container line business, and local/international maritime regulations.

Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.

Strong business acumen with proven track record in managing P&L and achieving business targets.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills with government authorities, shipping partners, and key accounts.

Language Requirement: Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin) both written and spoken.

High adaptability, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work under pressure.
