Monitoring Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage monitoring solutions using Checkmk to monitor infrastructure, servers, applications, and services.
• Configure, customize and fine-tune monitoring checks and rules to meet specific monitoring requirements.
• Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability, identifying and addressing any issues or anomalies proactively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define monitoring standards and best practices.
• Work closely with IT operations teams to identify and resolve monitoring-related incidents and problems.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including monitoring configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in the monitoring space, particularly in relation to Checkmk.

Qualifications:

• Solid knowledge on Linux OS's administration and configuration.
• Strong expertise in Checkmk, with demonstrable experience in designing, implementing, and managing Checkmk monitoring solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and applications.
• Proficient in configuring and customizing monitoring checks, rules, and notifications within Checkmk.
• Experience with integrating Checkmk with other monitoring tools and systems.
• Solid understanding of ITIL processes, particularly incident, problem, and change management.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and identify root causes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Plugin/Extension development knowledge/experience are a plus.
• Experienced with Python, Bash, Perl, Powershell are also a plus.
