Role:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key executive leadership role responsible for providing strategic financial oversight across all business divisions of the Timber-Tech Group of Companies. The CFO will lead the financial planning, reporting, analysis, treasury, and compliance functions while contributing to the companys long-term growth and profitability. This role requires a seasoned financial professional with strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, who can collaborate effectively with stakeholders to optimize financial strategies and maximize shareholder value.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company objectives, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
- Shape the long-term financial vision and support strategic planning initiatives across all business divisions.
- Provide strategic guidance on capital allocation, investment decisions, and financial risk management
- Advise the CEO on financial implications of corporate strategy, M&A activity, and expansion plans.
- Work closely with partner Westcap Management Ltd. on strategic financial strategies, relationship management, and reporting.
Financial Planning, Analysis, and Reporting:
- Lead the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial performance metrics and market trends.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop and monitor KPIs and financial dashboards to assess performance and inform decision-making.
- Lead scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support business agility and risk management.
- Evaluate pricing strategies and cost structures for margin enhancement and competitiveness.
Treasury, Capital and Investment Oversight:
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize financial efficiency and support business operations.
- Oversee banking relationships, debt financing, and investment activities.
- Optimize capital structure and manage capital raising efforts for strategic investments.
Risk Management, Compliance and Controls:
- Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities, including market, credit, and operational risks.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the company's financial assets and reputation.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain effective internal controls and governance structures to mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Oversee tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Technology, Systems and Process Improvement:
- Champion financial systems upgrades and automation for improved reporting, forecasting, and control.
- Lead enhancements in ERP and financial software platforms to improve efficiency and scalability.
Operational and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act a business partner to operations, project managers, and supply chain teams to align financial outcomes with execution.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, lenders, auditors, and regulatory agencies, to build strategic partnerships and enhance the company's financial credibility.
Leadership, Team Development and Culture
- Lead and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
- Recruit, coach, and retain top talent, embedding a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Other duties as assigned by the CEO.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
- Proven track record of financial leadership and strategic decision-making in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data to inform strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Thorough understanding financial regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
- Experience in treasury management, risk assessment, and corporate governance.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
