About the Role

As a Growth Engineer, you will help developers succeed faster by shipping measurable improvements across multiple growth surfaces, including SDKs, documentation, onboarding flows, dashboards, backend services, and lifecycle communications. You will work in a fast-moving, outcome-driven environment that values experimentation, craftsmanship, and learning in public

Responsibilities:

  • Ship growth experiments across multiple surfaces, including SDKs, documentation/quickstarts, dashboards, backend services, and email/CRM.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, design, and marketing to improve the developer experience.
  • Operate across the full stack, working with: Next.js and JavaScript/TypeScript, Go services backed by Postgres, BigQuery and PostHog for analytics and feature flagging.
  • Define clear hypotheses and success metrics for each experiment.
  • Instrument, launch, and monitor experiments behind feature flags.
  • Analyze results and share clear read-outs with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • 1–2+ years running growth experiments in a PLG/SaaS environment (developer tools experience preferred).
  • Full-stack fluency with professional experience in JavaScript/TypeScript (Next.js), Go, SQL
  • Strong data confidence: ability to define events, query BigQuery, and analyze results in PostHog, Hex, or similar tools.
  • Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and consistently close feedback loops.
  • Strong curiosity and a deep desire to understand the why behind problems.
  • User-focused mindset with comfort engaging directly with developers and sharing dashboards, pull requests, and experiment results.
  • Enthusiasm for using LLM-based tools to accelerate and enhance engineering work.

Nice To Have:

  • Demonstrated sustained experiment velocity (e.g., ~3 or more valid experiments per month over multiple quarters).
  • Experience building or maintaining SDKs or developer onboarding flows.
  • Familiarity with progressive delivery, feature flags, and basic experiment design or statistical concepts.

Additional Information

  • Full-time: 40 hours per week
  • Contract Type: Independent contractor
  • Work Hours: 9am to 5pm PST
