About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Delivery Manager / IT Manager to lead and coordinate a small but highly capable technical team working across multiple AI-driven products. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, operations, and stakeholders, with a strong focus on execution, planning, and team enablement, rather than hands-on coding.
The team is technically strong and largely self-sufficient, but currently lacks structured planning, backlog management, sprint discipline, and cross-functional coordination. This role exists to bring order, clarity, and predictability to how work is planned and delivered—without disrupting a healthy team dynamic.
The person in this role will act as a front-line technical manager and Scrum-style leader, responsible for organizing work, managing priorities, guiding agile processes, and helping the team operate efficiently across multiple concurrent products and customer projects. While this role does not require active development work, it does require a solid technical foundation to understand the architecture, challenges, and translate business needs into executable technical plans.
The environment includes AI agents, LLM-based systems, document processing, backend pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and containerized services. The ideal candidate understands these concepts well enough to ask the right questions, guide architectural thinking, and prevent short-term decisions from creating long-term technical or cost issues.
This role also involves people leadership at a small scale—coaching engineers, setting expectations, addressing blockers, and helping team members balance delivery work with professional growth. As the organization grows, this role is expected to mature into a stronger people and delivery leadership position.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day coordination and task management for the technical team across multiple products and initiatives
- Act as a Scrum Master–style leader, facilitating sprint planning, backlog grooming, standups, and delivery forecasting
- Work closely with Product and Business stakeholders to translate business requirements into well-defined technical tasks and user stories
- Improve and enforce agile discipline, including capacity planning, velocity tracking, backlog prioritization, and multi-sprint planning
- Ensure the team is focused on the right work at the right time, helping unblock issues and redirect effort when priorities shift
- Guide technical discussions at a conceptual and architectural level, ensuring solutions are scalable, reusable, and aligned with long-term goals
- Participate in customer and stakeholder meetings to help ask the right technical questions and validate feasibility early
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs from Product, Security, QA, and Infrastructure teams
- Monitor infrastructure usage and operational costs, identifying inefficiencies and preventing unnecessary spend
- Help manage technical risk, including SOC 2 and security-related work, without derailing delivery commitments
- Support engineers through coaching, feedback, and light people management, including time management and professional development guidance
- Assess team capacity and make hiring or resourcing recommendations based on demand and workload
- Maintain a collaborative team culture by listening first, understanding historical decisions, and introducing improvements thoughtfully
Requirements
- Experience in a technical leadership, delivery manageror technical product manager role
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies, with real-world experience in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and capacity management
- Solid technical foundation in backend systems, distributed architectures, and system integration
- Familiarity with AI/LLM concepts, including prompts, model usage, data pipelines, and architectural considerations (hands-on experience not required)
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure, containers, and resource management (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes concepts)
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, product leaders, and non-technical stakeholders
- Prior experience coordinating or managing engineers, even in a small or informal capacity
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing demands across multiple products
- Cost-conscious mindset when evaluating technical and infrastructure decisions
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, evolving environment with incomplete information
- Willingness to learn continuously and ask questions when encountering unfamiliar technical areas
- Collaborative leadership style focused on guidance, alignment, and enablement, not command-and-control
