About the Role

We are looking for a Business Development Intern to support outbound prospecting, market research, and sales operations while learning the full business development workflow within the staffing and recruitment industry.

You will assist in identifying target accounts, building outreach lists, drafting messaging sequences, tracking engagement in our CRM, and preparing for meetings with decision-makers. This is a hands-on internship that offers real responsibilities from day one, along with close mentorship from our leadership team.

This opportunity is ideal if you enjoy engaging with people, building meaningful connections, and are excited to kickstart a career in sales or business development.

  • Draft and run outbound sequences (emails, LinkedIn, light calling) with coaching and templates
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads; capture notes and next steps in the CRM
  • Assist with sales materials: one-pagers, case snapshots, talk tracks, and meeting prep
  • Maintain clean, accurate data in HubSpot/Apollo and help improve workflows
  • Coordinate handoffs to senior team members and document outcomes
  • Track weekly KPIs (outreach volume, replies, meetings set) and share insights

What You'll Learn

  • How to define an ICP and build a repeatable outbound engine
  • CRM hygiene, pipeline stages, and meeting-setting tactics
  • Messaging fundamentals for engaging executives
  • How staffing/recruiting solutions are sold B2B and how to position value

Requirements

  • Current college student in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, or related field
  • Able to work ~20 hours/week in San Diego (primarily onsite; partial remote possible)
  • Strong writing skills; confident with Google Workspace
  • Comfortable learning HubSpot and Apollo (experience is a plus, not required)

Nice to Have

  • Prior internship or campus experience in sales, SDR/BDR, recruiting, or founder-led outreach
  • Basic understanding of CRM concepts and outbound metrics
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator

Additional Information

  • Working Hours: Any time between 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM PT (flexible)
  • Part-Time: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Compensation: $18/hour

Benefits

  • Real ownership of projects with direct mentorship from leadership
  • Professional references and a portfolio of work (playbooks, lists, messaging)
  • Potential to convert to part-time or full-time post-graduation based on performance
