Job Title: Capital Operations Analyst

Location: Tokyo, Japan

Reports To: Head of Finance

Role Summary: The Capital Operations Analyst plays a pivotal role in managing various investment and financial operations tasks. Responsibilities include reviewing and processing investment documentation, ensuring accurate recording of investment transactions, assisting with loan documentation, communicating with stakeholders, and contributing to quarterly valuations. Additionally, the role involves participation in ad hoc projects assigned by the Investment Team and Management, and maintaining robust internal controls within the organization.

Core Responsibilities: Capital Management & Operations:

  • Support asset/portfolio management activities as needed.
  • Coordinate with developers and partners to receive ongoing project updates.
  • Maintain financial key performance indicators (KPIs) for projects and portfolios.
  • Utilize reporting and accountancy skills to enhance fund flow processes and update financial models.
  • Evaluate potential investments to ensure alignment with investment policy criteria.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Develop and maintain pitchbooks for fundraising or limited partner reporting.
  • Prepare investment memos and financial models for Investment Committee review.
  • Generate fund flow memos and cash reports.

Relationship Building:

  • Engage with developers to assess deal pipelines and calculate deal closing probabilities.
  • Share key takeaways from meetings with regional teammates.
  • Support communication with debt/equity providers.

Process Improvement and Risk Assessment:

  • Assist in model updates and monthly reporting to investors.
  • Implement new software-based solutions for data integrity and reporting.
  • Enhance written workflows on portfolio management tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Business.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Financial Analyst.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and internal reporting systems.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle unstructured problems.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Japanese.
