Job Title: Investment Analyst

Location: Tokyo, Japan

Reports To: Head of Investment

Goal and Summary of the Role: The primary focus of this role is to source and deploy assets in the renewable energy sector while engaging with relevant stakeholders to enhance operational value throughout the asset lifecycle. This entails a comprehensive understanding of DevCo, EPCCo, O&MCo functions from project development to operation phases.

Core Responsibilities: Investment, Sourcing & Partnership:

  • Lead junior analysts and align resources with core strategies and priorities.
  • Support in-house DevCo sourcing processes to expedite deployment.
  • Aid in due diligence QA, peer review, and model sanity checks.
  • Support investor relationship management and contract execution.
  • Facilitate ongoing partnerships, M&A, and JV initiatives with investment managers and energy utilities.
  • Foster developer relationships to facilitate capital deployment.

Capital Management & Value Up Operations:

  • Support operational tasks and capital management frameworks.
  • Coordinate with developers and partners to update project status and financial models.
  • Resolve stakeholder issues and maintain effective communication.
  • Update and maintain financial models for acquisition, portfolio management, and resale tracking.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new relationships (DevCo, EPCCo, O&MCo).

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Create and maintain pitchbooks for fundraising and investor communication.
  • Prepare investment memos and financial models for Investment Committee review.
  • Develop IC memos, fund flow memos, and cash maps for funds.

Process Efficiency & Process Creation:

  • Identify and address internal function gaps and organize team structures.
  • Implement efficient folder structures and templates for financial models.
  • Develop frameworks for developer selection to diversify product offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Business.
  • 3-5 years of experience as an Investment Analyst.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and internal reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple assignments efficiently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Professional working proficiency in English and Japanese.
