System Engineer (Night Shift 13:00-22:00): System Administrator, both Linux/Unix and Windows (Contract for 6 months)


Job Purpose
Junior System Engineer will be responsible for assisting with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of our systems and infrastructure, providing essential first-level end-user support, and actively contributing to IT asset management by maintaining accurate inventory and supporting related policies. This role also provides night shift support to post-deployment tech verification.

Key Accountabilities

  • IT asset management: Maintain and track an accurate inventory of IT hardware, software, and other IT assets.
  • Implement and manage IT asset management policies and procedures.
  • Prepare reports on asset status and disposition.
  • System Operation: Install, configure, and maintain systems and infrastructure, ensuring their ongoing availability and functionality
  • Provide first-level support for end-users (basic troubleshooting, connectivity issues).
  • Supporting Tech LV testing.


Qualification Required

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in technical support, junior system administration


Technical Skills:

  • Experience in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Basic understanding of database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and SQL
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Basic understanding of IT asset lifecycle management.
  • Experience in store or warehouse administration
  • Experience working with deployment and release processes.


Soft Skills:

  • Ability to identify potential issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement proactive solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to report on project status.
  • Strong ability to organize and maintain accurate records and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Proactive and willing to understand IT standards and procedures
