Director (Automotive Services industry)

 Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

1. Commercial & Sales Leadership

  • Drive overall retail revenue, profitability, and same-store sales performance
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, promotional campaigns, and pricing frameworks
  • Establish, track, and optimize KPIs across outlets (conversion rates, basket size, upselling effectiveness, etc.)

2. Retail Transformation & Brand Repositioning

  • Lead the strategic shift from tyre retail to full automotive service centres
  • Segment retail formats (premium vs. mass market) and tailor service offerings accordingly
  • Oversee outlet upgrading initiatives including store layout redesign and customer journey improvements

3. Operational Excellence

  • Standardize and implement best-in-class SOPs across all outlets
  • Improve workflow efficiency, turnaround times, and service quality
  • Optimize manpower planning, rostering, and productivity metrics

4. Product & Service Expansion

  • Broaden service offerings to include vehicle maintenance, repair services, and fleet solutions
  • Identify and introduce new revenue streams beyond traditional tyre sales
  • Partner closely with procurement teams on product assortment, pricing strategy, and margin optimization

5. Digital & Omnichannel Strategy

  • Lead the development of e-commerce and omnichannel retail capabilities
  • Integrate seamless online-to-offline customer journeys (online booking, transparent pricing, service tracking)
  • Drive digital marketing initiatives to increase customer acquisition, traffic, and conversion rates

6. Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop outlet managers and frontline teams
  • Foster a strong performance culture with clear accountability and targets
  • Oversee talent acquisition, capability development, and retention of high-performing staff

7. Partnerships & Business Development

  • Build and manage partnerships with corporate clients, insurers, and fleet operators
  • Identify strategic alliances to expand service demand and customer traffic
  • Explore new business opportunities to strengthen market positioning

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience managing multi-outlet retail operations
  • Strong track record in driving sales growth and leading business transformation initiatives
  • Experience in automotive, mobility services, or related industries is highly advantageous
  • Highly commercial, hands-on, and results-oriented leadership style
  • Strong stakeholder management, people leadership, and execution capabilities
