Programmer and Data Migration Executive
Job Description:
Responsibilities are:
- Generate the migration scripts (e.g. VBA and Python) required for all batches
- Ensure rollback scripts are included for all batches in every Work Order
- Responsible to validate the script for all batches in every Work Order prior implementation
- To perform preliminary automated sorting and generate system-assisted grouping outputs.
- Conduct comprehensive manual validation to ensure accuracy of all preliminary outputs.
- Ensure end-to-end alignment of service types
- Process and organize all the local port (LP), number port (NP), and partial LP related data sets
- Conduct thorough validation to confirm the accuracy, consistency and correctness of all LP data sets
- Rectify data discrepancies (dirty data) through systematic correction, clarification or escalation to Customers team
- Perform weekly data validation exercise prior to batch finalization to ensure datasets remain up-to-date and migration ready
- Conduct regular check of MSAN IP reachability to ensure network readiness for migration
- Document all reachability tests and highlight any in-accessible nodes for rectification
Pre-migration activities
Perform pre-migration checks and testing to ensure service readiness, including:
- Test matrix execution;
- Inbound/outbound call scenarios;
- Confirmation that subscriber data is fully synchronized prior migration;
- Identification and rectification of anomalies that may impact the migration process
During-migration activities
Carry out migration activities in accordance with the approved cutover schedule, including:
- Execution of approved migration scripts for provisioning, rollback;
- Real-time monitoring of migration status and KPIs;
- Immediate troubleshooting and escalation of any errors, mismatches, or failed migration entries;
- Coordination with Customer and Huawei teams to validate progress and address exceptions;
- Documentation of all actions performed during the migration window
Post-migration activities
- Perform post-migration call testing;
- Validate that subscribers services are fully restored and operating as expected;
- Conduct post-migration monitoring to detect abnormalities or service degradation;
- Rectify all post-cutover issues prior to work order (WO) closure; and
- Submit complete migration evidence, logs and reports for Customer verification and audit.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related disciplines.
- Relevant professional certifications in data management, scripting, or telecommunications systems will be an advantage.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on experience in data migration, system cutover, or production implementation environments.
- Proven experience in developing and executing migration scripts using VBA, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Strong understanding of data validation, reconciliation, and rollback procedures in large-scale migrations.
- Experience handling large and complex datasets, including data cleansing and rectification of dirty data.
- Familiarity with telecommunications systems and workflows, including:
- Local Port (LP), Number Portability (NP), and partial LP processes
- MSAN systems and IP reachability testing
- Experience performing pre-migration, during-migration, and post-migration activities, including call testing and service validation.
- Ability to execute and interpret test matrices, inbound/outbound call scenarios, and KPI monitoring during cutover.
- Comfortable working with production systems and managing high-risk migration windows.
Operational & Process Knowledge
- Strong understanding of end-to-end service provisioning and migration workflows.
- Experience in batch migration planning, execution, and tracking.
- Ability to produce clear and accurate migration documentation, logs, and audit evidence.
- Familiarity with change management and work order (WO) processes.
Stakeholder & Communication Skills
- Proven ability to coordinate with customers, vendors, and technology partners (e.g. system integrators, network vendors such as Huawei).
- Able to clearly escalate issues, propose solutions, and provide timely status updates during migration windows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and reporting.
Personal Attributes
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple migration batches.
- Calm and effective under pressure, especially during live cutover and after-hours migration activities.
- Willingness to support night, weekend, or public holiday migration windows when required.
Preferred / Advantageous
- Experience in telecommunications or ISP environments.
- Exposure to large-scale system transformation or legacy-to-new-platform migrations.
- Familiarity with KPIs, dashboards, or operational monitoring tools.
Additional notes:
- Able to commit from April to Dec 2026
- Able to work staggered hours -for e.g. 9 to 6pm or 11am to 8pm or 1pm to 10pm etc.
- Salary up to $5000
