Job Description:
Quality Engineer
The Quality Engineer must provide product quality support by interfacing with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to understand and fulfill customer expectations in support of our Electronics Chemical product line and the rapidly growing global Electronics Chemical business.
The successful candidate will need to have Quality and Electronics Chemical experience, good interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work effectively with global cross-functional teams and be innovative and aggressive in problem solving.
Responsibilities:
Drive Customer Quality Communication and Satisfaction
Drive improvement in Customer Scorecards, develop plans to improve customer satisfaction and relationships.
Proactively develop plans with Suppliers and Internal Teams to promote Quality, Operations, Process, and product improvements for customers.
Understand Business Teams functional and strategic plans / initiatives to drive quality communications to the customers.
Derive and own the voice of the customer regarding Product, Process, and Quality systems and drive improvement projects within the company / Supplier. Respond to Customer Issues Regarding Product Quality and Quality Systems
Lead investigation and resolution of product and non-product complaints in speedy manner and be accountable for customer quality report management.
Complete corrective action reports for customer complaints and provide update to customers.
Serve as primary point of contact for Quality-related issues from customers.
Lead Suppliers and Internal Teams to follow up Quality-related Process/ Product Change Notification to customers.
Lead customer site visits and customer on-site audits.
Complete customer control/ notification limit reviews.
Complete customer specification reviews and provide recommendations to Suppliers and Internal Teams.
Provide data analysis and trend reviews with Customers, Suppliers and Internal teams.
Drive Supplier Quality Performance and Improvement
Develop new supplier quality systems and process improvements to prevent issues and excursions and aligns supplier capabilities to market requirements
Conduct Audits, assessments, and monitors performance of suppliers, relative to the implementation and performance of supplier quality systems and score cards.
Understand Business Teams functional and strategic plans / initiatives to drive the quality performance of Suppliers.
Work closely with Suppliers for Continuous Improvement projects for variation and cost reduction.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirement:
B.S. in Chemical / Electronics & Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
5+ years work experience in a fab or related manufacturing environment and/or combination of education and experience.
3+ Years of independent supplier/ customer engagement/management preferred
Candidates with their own transportation would be an added advantage due to the frequent travel locally to meet with customers.
The candidate should have ability to communicate and interact well with people from different countries, background and working level, to achieve the desired outcome / goal.
Technical - Strong statistical knowledge and background related to SPC, process control, Engineering knowledge and experience with manufacturing, quality systems, and strong systematic problem-solving skills.
Experience with wafer fab or wafer fab materials suppliers or Electronics Chemical is a plus.
Knowledge of Electronics Chemical is an advantage.
Business - Demonstrate ability to lead customer communications and positively engage with them in difficult situations; Strong understanding of the company products and processes; Planning, prioritizing & goal setting skills; Ability to meet deadlines by creatively solving problems; Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and lead cross regional and cultural teams. Demonstrate ability to work effectively with international employees and customers, and to provide direction to peers and other employees across the company; Critical thinking skills; Communication and presentation skills; Demonstrate initiative, leadership, teamwork, and customer oriented.
Computer - Proficient skills in a Microsoft Windows environment; Advanced skills in Excel, statistical software, SAP/ Oracle ERP and LIMS a plus.
Six-Sigma experience recommended, Green Belt or Black Belt a plus.
Leadership Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence others.
Project management Strong project management skills. Ability to multi-task.
