Senior Accountant

 Job Description:

Location: Loyang Drive

Working Hours: 5 days

Reporting: The accountant reports directly to the Senior Manager Finance & HR in SACS - Singapore.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register in accordance with statutory reporting standards. Perform capitalization, depreciation and asset retirement/disposal in accordance with accounting policies and procedures. Perform annual physical verification of fixed assets. Reconcile differences and recommend corrective actions. Ensure all physical assets are properly tagged.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate journal entries and allocations. Review AR and AP journal entries prepared by Accounts Executives before posting to GL. Close monthly GL on time. Ensure revenue and cost cut off procedures are observed.
  • Reconcile accounts and provide analysis of all income and expenses. Perform analysis.
  • Perform detailed review of quarterly GST returns; ensure that GST returns are reported correctly and timely to IRAS. Review checklist and ensure that all aspects of business are in compliance with AISS and GST Act.
  • Compile accurate tax-related information for the company. Calculate taxable income and the income tax liabilities of the company for monthly accounting close. Provide accurate and timely tax and financial reports to the relevant authorities.
  • Plan and coordinate the annual financial statutory audit. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and disclosure notes. Ensure audit queries are followed up timely.
  • Respond to internal and external auditors on audit data requirements. Resolve issues and deficiencies arising from audit findings.
  • Prepare accurate sales rebates and royalty reports and ensure payments are made in accordance with agreements. Calculate customer rebates and royalty accruals.
  • Plan and coordinate monthly inventory cycle count. Investigate discrepancies if any and take corrective action. Plan and coordinate annual 100% physical count of inventory. Coordinate with external auditor for inventory count observation.
  • Implement policies and procedures with emphasis on internal controls to prevent possible fraud and errors.
  • Submit response to government surveys as required under Singapore Statistics Act.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accountancy or equivalent (ACCA)
  • Min 5 years in relevant experience
  • Oracle R12 knowledge preferred
  • Able to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment

Other requirements:

  • Extended hours may be required to meet month end deadlines.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Physically able to participate in stock take, audits, presentations, and meetings (during office and after hours).
