Logistic Specialist (Chemical/ SAP)

 Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Perform all transportation planning, executing, and monitoring including reporting, domestic, import & export documentation for shipments according to defined processes.
  • Maintain the international shipping process, ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures and ultimately ensure that the trade compliance program for the company is supported.
  • Inventory management, stock reconciliation and accuracy.
  • Participate in International Logistics Program.
  • Conduct transportation planning activities including shipment booking with tender/spot rates, carrier selection, routes maintenance and scheduling for stock transfer orders, sales orders, sample orders and empty return Iso-tanks.
  • Gather necessary documentation for import customs declaration and resolve complications as they arise.
  • Participate in UAT, trainings, data collection and deployment of International Logistics Program as assigned by Program Leader.
  • Conduct monthly warehouse stock reconciliation, discrepancy follow up and assist in year-end stock count.
  • Accountable for inventory management in SAP such as on time GR, GI, write on/off, disposal, block/unblock stock etc.
  • Monitor and regular review of the performance of logistics service providers and organization logistics KPIs.
  • Application of Manufactures Cost Statement with Singapore customs, maintain relationships with government agencies and ensure yearly renewal of memberships.
  • Develop SOP and conduct trainings for logistics service providers.
  • Support freight cost payment, PO issuance for 3PL services, and invoicing.
  • Investigate cause of service failures and develop preventive actions for logistics complaints.
  • Support process improvement efforts and contribute to projects as directed by the Team Lead.

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or other relevant discipline preferred with min 5 years experience in logistics and supply chain. Prior working experience in Chemical Industry is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge in performing international logistics activities and understanding of the global transport market.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and quick action to develop a solution.
  • Experience with carriers and custom brokers relationship management and performance evaluations.
  • Ability to use data to support decision making and develop solutions to present to leaders.
  • Ability to support process improvement initiatives and major projects while balancing daily responsibilities.
  • Self-disciplined and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Logistics Software Applications such as SAP ECC, TMS, WMS and Microsoft Office Applications Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage conflict situations to establish a common ground in operational obstacles with the internal/external stakeholders.
