Technical Manager (COC/ISM/ISPS)
Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Lead and support Technical Superintendents, especially during emergencies, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
- Oversee technical operations of the fleet, including maintenance, repairs, budgeting, inspections, surveys, and dry docking.
- Ensure vessels are operational and meet company standards.
- Engage Superintendents in strategic discussions to improve performance and foster accountability.
- Ensure timely submission of dry docking reports, including work summaries and cost breakdowns within 30 days.
- Source technical supplies and ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Evaluate repair quotes and select suitable shipyards for maintenance and dry-docking.
- Review logs monthly and ensure inspections are completed as scheduled.
- Monitor vessel certification and survey status.
- Supervise repair and maintenance work by contractors.
- Control budgets and costs for spares and docking activities.
- Conduct audits and investigations to ensure technical compliance and resolve defects.
- Promote safety culture and ensure superintendents emphasize safety in operations.
- Collaborate with HSE team to implement QHSE systems and policies.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, and maintain a zero-accident record.
- Report incidents and near misses promptly to prevent future issues.
- Handle other technical tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- COC class 1 with 5 years of experience in similar capacity
- Familiarity with ISM / ISPS is a must
- Possess good leadership, organisational and communication skills, hands-on.
- Independent and resourceful. Able to work under pressure to meet deadline
- Analytical and highly proactive in technical trouble shooting and problem solving
- Ability to travel within short notice as required
