An international holding group is seeking an experienced Legal Director to support a portfolio of large-scale EPC, industrial, and infrastructure projects across the CIS region. Based in Doha, this role will act as the senior legal lead for project delivery activities, providing hands-on support to major ongoing and upcoming capital projects across multiple jurisdictions.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Legal Director will work closely with Project Directors, Commercial Management, Procurement, Finance, and Executive Leadership to ensure strong legal governance and successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the legal function for major EPC projects from tender stage through execution, completion, and close-out
- Partner closely with Project Directors and project management teams to support delivery milestones, timelines, and commercial objectives
- Provide day-to-day legal guidance to project leadership on contractual rights, obligations, risk allocation, and dispute prevention
- Supervise drafting, review, negotiation, and administration of EPC contracts, subcontract agreements, supply contracts, purchase orders, and change orders
- Support claims management, extension of time matters, variations, liquidated damages, and contractor performance issues
- Build effective working relationships with engineering, procurement, construction, HSE, finance, and commercial teams on each project
- Coordinate external counsel on disputes, arbitration, employment, regulatory, or local law matters when required
- Develop practical contract management processes and governance controls across project teams
Candidate Profile
- 12+ years of relevant legal experience, with mandatory EPC project exposure
- Strong track record supporting major construction, energy, o&g, industrial, or infrastructure projects
- Experience leading legal teams, contract managers, or site-based legal resources
- Good understanding of English law and international contracting standards
- Experience across CIS markets or similar cross-border project environments
- Fluent Russian and English required
- Willingness to be based in Doha with periodic travel to project locations
