Job Overview

The Legal & Industrial Compliance Officer is responsible for managing all legal, regulatory, and industrial compliance matters of the company. This position ensures that business operations, projects, and workforce practices comply with Indonesian laws, SNI standards, labor regulations (UU Ketenagakerjaan), and industrial safety rules. The role also supports management in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, permits, and legal documentation across engineering, fabrication, and project operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Legal & Contract Management

Draft, review, and finalize commercial agreements, MOUs, NDAs, subcontracts, and vendor contracts in line with Indonesian law and FIDIC/GCC standards.

Advise management on legal implications of business decisions, disputes, and risk exposures.

Manage all company licenses, permits, and certifications (NIB, PBG, UKL-UPL, SBUJK, etc.) and ensure timely renewal.

Support legal due diligence for new projects and partnerships.

2. Industrial & Labor Compliance

Ensure company compliance with Manpower Regulations (Ketenagakerjaan), employment contracts, BPJS, and expatriate permits (RPTKA, IMTA, KITAS).

Liaise with Disnaker, BKPM, and local government authorities regarding industrial and employment regulations.

Review internal policies and HR documentation to ensure compliance with Indonesian labor law.

Handle disciplinary matters, legal notices, and company representation during mediation or arbitration processes.

3. Risk & Governance

Monitor corporate legal risk and provide recommendations to minimize exposure.

Support internal audits and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Maintain a proper record of company legal documents, agreements, and litigation files.

4. Advisory & Reporting

Prepare regular legal compliance reports for management and board review.

Advise management on regulatory updates, new government decrees, and law amendments affecting the industry.

Coordinate with external legal counsel when necessary for complex or litigation matters.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Law (Industrial / Business / Corporate Law major) from a reputable university.

Minimum 35 years of experience in corporate or industrial legal functions.

Strong knowledge of Indonesian commercial law, industrial relations, and labor law (UU No. 13/2003 and updates).

Experience handling industrial permits and factory compliance preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Able to work independently and coordinate with multiple government agencies.
