1. Position Summary

The Senior Electrical Draftsman (HVLV) is responsible for preparing detailed electrical drawings and documentation for high-voltage and low-voltage systems across MEP projects, workshops, industrial facilities, and fuel storage tank installations. The role requires strong technical drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate closely with electrical engineers and site teams.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Electrical Drafting & Design Support

Prepare and update electrical drawings, including:

Single Line Diagrams (SLD)

Load schedules & panel schedules

Cable routing, cable tray, and cable trunking layouts

Earthing & lightning protection layouts

Lighting, small power, and emergency power layouts

Produce detailed shop drawings for HV/LV equipment installation.

Convert engineer sketches and design inputs into clear, accurate technical drawings.

B. MEP & Industrial Drafting

Prepare electrical layouts for MEP systems including HVAC power supply, pumps, chillers, gensets, ATS/AMF panels, and control wiring.

Draft electrical plans for industrial workshops (welding machines, cranes, compressors, fabrication equipment, power distribution).

C. Fuel Storage Tank & Hazardous Area Drafting

Prepare electrical layouts for fuel tank farms, including:

EX-proof equipment layout

Bonding & grounding layout

Cable routing for pumps, motors, level sensors

Hazardous area (Zone 1 & 2) electrical drawings

Coordinate with mechanical teams for tank nozzle, pump room, and piping layouts.

D. Documentation & Coordination

Prepare BOQ support drawings, as-built drawings, and revision updates.

Maintain drawing registers and ensure document control compliance.

Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, and other MEP disciplines.

Support preparation of installation standard diagrams and method statement drawings.

3. Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Drafting (preferred).

Minimum 46 years experience as electrical draftsman in MEP/EPCM/industrial projects.

Strong knowledge of HV and LV systems, cable routing standards, and workshop electrical layout.

Experience drafting for fuel storage tanks and hazardous areas (advantage).

Proficient in:

AutoCAD (mandatory)

Microsoft Office

Revit MEP (advantage)

Strong attention to detail and ability to work with engineering teams.

4. Preferred Experience

MEP buildings and industrial facilities

Fuel storage tank farms (EX-proof and hazardous area electrical layouts)

Workshop electrical distribution

Control and instrumentation drawings (advantage)
