1. Position Summary

The SCADA Specialist is responsible for designing, configuring, installing, and commissioning SCADA and automation systems for industrial facilities including fuel storage tanks, jetty operations, workshops, and weighbridge systems. The role requires strong hands-on experience in PLC programming, instrumentation, data communication, and SCADA integration.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. SCADA & Automation System Design

Develop SCADA architecture, control philosophies, and automation workflow diagrams.

Design HMI/SCADA screens for real-time monitoring, alarms, trends, and control logic.

Prepare IO list, control panel drawings, and interface diagrams.

Configure PLC/RTU/SCADA systems for:

Fuel storage tanks (level, pressure, temperature, ESD, ATG integration)

Jetty automation (pumps, valves, loading arms, emergency cut-off)

Workshops (compressors, cranes, power systems monitoring)

Weighbridge systems (load cells, sensors, RFID/OCR integration)

B. Installation & Commissioning

Lead installation of automation panels, sensors, field instruments, and control wiring.

Perform programming, FAT, SAT, and commissioning of SCADA/PLC systems.

Integrate communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/RTU, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, OPC, and RS-485.

Troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, and communication network issues on site.

C. Maintenance & Support

Provide ongoing support for SCADA systems, fault diagnosis, and system upgrades.

Maintain data logs, reporting systems, and alarm management.

Train site personnel on operating SCADA systems and automation equipment.

D. Documentation & Coordination

Prepare technical documents:

FDS (Functional Design Specification)

P&ID interface review

Test reports and commissioning records

As-built documentation

Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and IT teams to ensure full integration.

Work closely with OEMs and vendors for calibration and instrumentation supply.

3. Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or equivalent.

Minimum 46 years experience in SCADA/PLC automation for industrial projects.

Strong knowledge in PLCs such as Siemens, Schneider, Allen-Bradley, Omron (any is acceptable).

Skilled in HMI/SCADA software (Ignition, Wonderware, WinCC, Citect, etc.).

Strong understanding of instrumentation for fuel tanks and jetty operations.

Experience integrating sensors for weighbridge and workshop machinery.

Familiar with P&ID, loop diagrams, I/O mapping, and industrial networking.

4. Preferred Experience

Fuel storage terminal automation

Jetty loading/unloading control systems

Workshop electrical and equipment monitoring

Weighbridge automation & data acquisition

Experience with EX-proof instrumentation (advantage)
