We are supporting a fast-growing international FMCG organisation in their search for a Territory Sales Manager to drive market expansion across key states in the United States. This is a field-based, revenue-generating role focused on building strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
The successful candidate will report into the Sales Manager (with a dotted line to the Head of Sales) and work closely with a wider commercial team across the US and internationally.
About the Role
This position plays a pivotal role in expanding market presence across assigned US territories. You will take ownership of the full sales cyclefrom lead generation to relationship managementwhile developing a strong, reliable distributor and retailer network. Through consistent engagement, structured planning, and a hunter mentality, you will work toward achieving ambitious growth targets.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and other key partners.

Act as the primary point of contact for all customer needs, ensuring timely communication and issue resolution.

Identify opportunities to deepen partnerships and drive revenue growth.

Develop retention plans, including regular visits and targeted follow-up interactions.
Sales & Business Development

Drive new business through market research, lead generation, networking, and cold outreach.

Collaborate with marketing and internal support teams on targeted commercial initiatives.

Provide regular updates on sales performance, pipeline health, and market insights.
Market Analysis & Strategy

Develop and execute territory sales strategies that exceed targets.

Track competitor activity, gather client feedback, and adjust approach accordingly.

Work closely with logistics and account management to ensure seamless fulfilment and customer experience.
Compliance
-
Ensure all clients operate in line with relevant regulations and organisational policies.

Support customers in maintaining strong, compliant market positioning.
Reporting & Analytics

Monitor and analyse account performance using CRM and reporting tools.

Manage workflows and communication via HubSpot (or similar CRM).

Prepare regular reports covering sales activity, visits, and market developments.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is charismatic, confident, and highly driven with a hunter mindset. You will recognise yourself in the following:

2+ years of proven sales success, ideally within FMCG, consumer goods, distribution, or field sales environments.

Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

A proactive self-starter, able to operate independently and act with urgency.

Strategic thinker with a solutions-focused approach.

Willing and able to travel extensively within assigned states.

Proficiency with Google Suite and CRM platforms (HubSpot preferred).

Valid US drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
