Job Purpose

Primary responsibility involves facilitating the efficient Cargo Handling at RAK Airport. Critical role in ensuring Cargo warehouse management, proper Handling, adhering to the federal and international laws organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization. Assist customers and deliver exceptional customer services. Additionally, contributing to overall flight punctuality and operational success is achieved through coordination with Cargo & Ground Handling team members and adherence to established protocols. The attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to work in a dynamic environment are essential qualities for ensuring the smooth functioning of Cargo Operations.

Process

  • Perform all cargo handling related activities including documentation, customer service, acceptance, delivery, breakdown, and build-up.
  • Update flight handling reports including identification and monitoring of irregularities and discrepancies. Communicate any irregularities / discrepancies to Cargo Officer and relevant outstations.
  • Monitor import cargo receipt and breakdown, resolving any related issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepare Cargo as per load plan for outbound flights ensuring optimum utilization of capacity. Ensure all transit and destination requirements are adhered to for special cargo including DG / AVI / HUM / PER / VAL etc.
  • Prepare and verify accurate cargo documentation, including monitoring of consignment status and ensuring correct documentation is available in accordance with local regulations and company policies. Ensure timely and accurate submission of Cargo Manifest, UWS to Load Control for outbound flights.
  • Complete administrative duties as directed by the Senior Cargo Officer, including ULD Control, data entry, statistics, and reports.
  • Provide operational support and cover operational duties as directed by the Cargo Supervisor/Officer/Load Master e.g. freighter duties. Provide support and guidance to supporting staff.
  • Coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure smooth clearance of special cargo.
  • Follow SOPs and work instructions issued by airlines, airport, and Cargo.

Reporting

  • Prepare cargo reports (CN, Cargo Master file, Cargo statistics etc).

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications

  • Fluent in English and Arabic.
  • Knowledge of Internet and MS Office applications.
  • High School or its Equivalent.

Professional Qualifications

  • Ability to learn things fast and implement them.
  • A valid UAE driving licence.

EXPERIENCE

Required Experience

Preferred 2 Year Experience in Cargo/Logistics.

  • To comply with the relevant safety requirements and procedures outlined in the Cargo Service Manual and Safety Management System and any other instructions or notices issued by Ras Al Khaimah International Airport.
  • To comply with the safety requirements detailed within their training.
  • To advise their Head of Department and the Airport Duty Officer team of any safety occurrence or system failure and to identify and report any situation of potential risk or concern affecting safety via one of the following means.
  • Report directly to the Safety Department or an immediate supervisor.
  • Submitting an Accident/ Incident Report.
  • Support safety audits as and investigations as they occur.
