Role Purpose:

The Site Coordinator plays a pivotal role in executing and managing end-to-end project activities at the construction site. This position is responsible for translating design intent into actionable on-site plans, coordinating resources, and ensuring that project delivery timelines, budgets, quality, and safety standards are met. With a strong focus on project leadership, the Site Coordinator acts as the operational link between design, procurement, subcontractors, and site execution especially in projects involving interior fit-outs, exterior works and design-and-build assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Execution Oversight

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager during pre-construction to understand scope, timelines, and key deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain detailed short-term work plans and lookahead schedules for site activities in line with the master project schedule.
  • Coordinate the timely mobilization of labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Identify critical path activities and lead initiatives to resolve bottlenecks to maintain progress.

2. Site Operations & Coordination

  • Manage daily site operations, supervising subcontractors and in-house teams to ensure effective and coordinated work across trades.
  • Oversee installation and finishing of interior works including flooring, partitions, ceilings, joinery, and decorative elements.
  • Ensure exterior works (e.g., aluminum cladding, curtain wall, louvers, external lighting, etc.) are executed to specification and detail.
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved shop drawings, specifications, and method statements.

3. Technical & Quality Assurance

  • Review and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and shop drawings to guide site execution.
  • Work closely with the design and technical teams to resolve discrepancies and propose buildable alternatives where necessary.
  • Monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with company and industry quality standards.
  • Conduct snagging, punch listing, and coordinating rectification works prior to handover.

4. Project Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track and report on daily progress, material usage, workforce productivity, and equipment performance.
  • Provide regular updates to the Project Manager on milestone achievements, potential risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Maintain up-to-date site documentation including inspection reports, delivery notes, approvals, and work permits.

5. Resource & Cost Management

  • Optimize resource usage (labor, materials, tools) to reduce waste and enhance efficiency.
  • Liaise with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and verify quantity and quality upon receipt.
  • Monitor and flag potential cost overruns, assisting the Project Manager in maintaining budget discipline.

6. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

  • Enforce site safety policies and ensure adherence to statutory HSE requirements and internal safety procedures.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and ensure proper use of PPE by all workers.
  • Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe practices, and actively contribute to a safe working environment.

7. Stakeholder Communication & Coordination

  • Serve as the key site liaison for consultants, client representatives, authorities, and internal teams.
  • Facilitate and document site meetings, inspections, and coordination reviews with relevant parties.
  • Manage expectations of clients and consultants on-site regarding deliverables, timelines, and constraints.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related technical field.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar site leadership role within interior fit-out, exterior construction, or design-build projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple trades and project phases under tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycles from mobilization to handover.
  • Proficient in interpreting detailed technical drawings and specifications.
