Finance Officer

 Job Description:

The Finance Officer will work closely with and support the finance senior management team in implementing a technology led, well defined financial control, accounting and treasury process and environment to support the growth of the Group. Your role will involve providing finance support and guidance within corporate guidelines. The Finance Officer will report to the Senior Finance Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client billing and revenue recognition activities.
  • Financial control of projects within our Project Management applications.
  • Accounts receivable and payable activities including assisting with both credit control and supplier management.
  • Provision of data to support the cash flow.
  • Assistance in the preparation of weekly/monthly payment runs.
  • Assisting with the preparation of the monthly payroll and posting of payroll.
  • Maintenance of fixed asset registers.
  • Maintain chart of accounts/general/customer/supplier ledgers across all legal entities as required.
  • Record keeping and archive management.
  • Reviewing outstanding invoices for approval.
  • Reconciliation of control accounts where appropriate.
  • Monthly review of accruals and prepayments.
  • Ensure that financial transactions are properly updated and recorded.
  • Assistance with preparation of quarterly GST returns and submissions.
  • Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, expense reports etc.
  • Ensure data integrity in all financial reporting.
  • Assist the Senior Finance Team with production of management accounts and reports, including financial analysis to identify and resolve issues, gaps or variances.
  • Assist with budgeting process and analysis.
  • Assistance with processing of all transactions on Xero, CMAP and Projector.
  • Assist the Senior Finance Team with any additional finance activities that may come up from time to time.

Skills

  • Advanced Excel and Word skills
  • In-depth understanding of financial systems to include Xero
  • Power Query experience is desirable

Experience

  • Previous experience of working in a busy finance environment.
  • Ideally have previous experience working within a professional services environment and an understanding of internal client service.
  • A deep understanding of the principles of accounting for service businesses.
  • Confident to contribute to improving processes or practices and to explain the reasoning.
