Accounting Senior Manager, Funds & Corporate - Guernsey
Job Description:
To lead the accounting team and to provide training, guidance and support to team members on a 6 month contract. To provide accounting and financial reporting services to a portfolio of clients and supporting the team to meet all deliverables. Preparation of periodic financial reporting in accordance with relevant accounting and industry standards and providing assistance and advice on accounting related matters generally. Liaison with clients and auditors as necessary.
The post holder will be responsible for:
Leading the accounting service line both in Guernsey and Mauritius.
Providing training, guidance and support to team members including those based in Mauritius. This would include managing the workflow of the team.
Preparation and implementation of entity specific procedures in relation to accounting reporting requirements.
Providing sound, quality and technical guidance to clients.
Take ownership of client deliverables ensuring all requests are completed in line with client expectations including ensuring forward planning of workload and deliverables.
Preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with recognised GAAP and relevant reporting requirements.
Supervising and reviewing the production of periodic management accounts, management reports and other reporting requirements from trial balances in accordance with agreed timetables. Assisting in preparation as required.
Monitor key KPI's of the Mauritian team to include monitoring WIP against agreed budgets and report variance.
Support automation as part of client solutions.
People management: ensure OKRs are done for the accounting service line report, provide feedback in a timely manner and promote strong teamwork.
Providing advice and assistance to administration staff on accounting and bookkeeping matters.
Supporting the directors with client meetings, new business pitches and new business proposals including producing thought leadership for external publication.
Supporting the audit process to ensure the completion of milestones and deadlines.
Maintaining and developing knowledge of private equity and real estate accounting matters.
Ad hoc financial reporting tasks.
Understanding and complying with appropriate jurisdictional laws and regulations.
Understanding and complying with anti-money laundering regulations.
Carrying out all duties in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Completing any other duties as may be required from time to time in accordance with the requirements of the role, team and evolving nature of the function

KEY COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
Relevant accounting qualification – ACA, ACCA or equivalent / proven relevant experience
Experience of IFRS and UK GAAP
Relevant industry experience
Experience of supervising, guiding and coaching staff
Strong working knowledge of laws, rules and regulatory environment
Able to communicate effectively - both verbally and in writing with clients and colleagues
Able to monitor and provide guidance on accounting matters and best practice to junior members of the team
Comfortable with technology and can adapt to various bespoke systems
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to motivate and influence direct reports
Energy and a 'can do' attitude'
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Understands the importance of consistently delivering high standards in a customer service role
