Junior Systems Accountant 

Salary £40,000 - £45,000

  • Broad accounting systems knowledge preferable
  • Experience in a professional services environment ideal
  • Working knowledge of financial reporting systems ideal

  • We're looking for an innovative individual with a keen interest in working in a more technical area of Finance. As the Junior Systems Accountant, you will support the firm's financial systems, system configuration changes and enhancements.

    About the role

    • Managing and maintaining the Firm's finance systems on a day to day basis
    • Reviewing system performance and identifying issues
    • Reviewing and maintaining all finance systems policies and procedures
    • Troubleshooting and fixing finance-related system issues
    • Training and supporting colleagues in the use of finance systems and procedures
    • Supporting audit and statutory accounts preparation
    • Managing system upgrades with the Finance and Information Services department
    • Preparing presentations for various reporting periods
    • Working with business intelligence software
    • Collaborating with the financial control team on month end / year end closing and balancing

    About you

    • Broad knowledge of accounting systems
    • Experience working in project and BAU environments, ideally within a professional services business
    • Experience in communicating and influencing stakeholders
    • Comprehensive Excel or BI reporting skills
    • Working knowledge of financial reporting systems and their applications
    • Ability to collaborate and train colleagues
    • Team player with ability to develop effective working relationships
    • Assured and effective communicator, able to work effectively at all levels within an organisation
    • Able to demonstrate high levels of initiative and decision making capability and to be comfortable working within a results driven environment with accuracy and focus
    • Effective personal organisational and time management skills, and the ability to understand and prioritise the workload of others in mind
