Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
Accountable to the Head of Electronics through their Senior Engineer for the correct and timely completion of all given work to the standards required by the MMS.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To assist with maintenance and repair of electronic systems and equipment in accordance with maintenance manuals and procedures both on board customer units and in base facilities.
2. To immediately bring to the attention of their Senior Engineer any circumstance which may affect the availability of customer units, repair milestones or Health, Safety and Environment of personnel.
3. To observe the current MMS Health and Safety instructions.
4. To attend continuation and specialist training within the Electronic Department as directed by the Electronic Department Senior Staff Engineer.
5. To assist with the training of industrial attachment students as required.
6. To observe the working hours and dress regulations required by MMS.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Customer Base Acquaint Course.
2. Quality Health Safety and Environment Application Course.
3. Nominated specialist equipment courses as determined by appointment and specialization of Communications, Navigation or Radar Sensors.
EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE
1. BD VOTEC National Certificate or recognized equivalent engineering discipline with 1 year relevant work experience
OR
2. City and Guilds/ Vocational Certificate Pt 2
OR
recognized equivalent in a relevant electronic subject with 1 year relevant work experience.
