Job Description:
POSITION / JOB SUMMARY
Assistant Engineer is accountable to the Engineer for all relevant maintenance work carried out by the section and for the standard and timely completion of designated work. There must assist the Engineer in doing level 3 and 4 maintenance and any corrective works.
No KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
1. Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing the defect system (Preventive Maintenance).
2. Identify and resolve issues in Mechanical systems, ensuring safety and efficiency. To make sure all Auxiliaries and Propulsion system are tested and tested for function.
3. Conduct tests on Pumps, Valves and existing systems to ensure functionality and compliance.
4. Install, inspect, and maintain Mechanical systems and equipment. Preventive and corrective maintenance, fault finding, overhauling Pumps and all Mechanical equipment.
5. Record all the test data during the maintenance period.
6. Test and rectify all Mechanical equipment for defect during the base maintenance period, defect essential docking, afloat maintenance, 2 years refit and 4 years refit maintenance period.
7. Ensure quality, efficient and economic repair work carried out.
8. Work closely with Engineer, senior engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams to meet project goals.
9. Bring immediate attention to any shortcoming which affects the efficiency of the head of workshop.
10. Install Mechanical component parts of the engines and other systems and distribution components ensure that they're capability of familiar with the components.
Qualifications
1.HND/Degree Mechanical Engineering
2. Knowledge of industry standards (e.g. Specification and so on)
3. Higher National Technical Education Certificate (HNTec) and National Technical Education Certificate (NTec) in mechanical-related fields.
Work Experience (Years)
1–3 years in Mechanical engineering roles; internships or project experience preferred.
