Assistant Engineer - PWP (030726)

 Job Description:

Accountable to the engineer for the correct and timely completion of all given work to the Standards required by Muara Maritime Services.

Roles & Responsibilities:

· Report to Senior Staff Engineer or Senior Engineer.

· Ensure quality, efficient and economic repair work is carried out.

· Carry out basic diagnosis, repair and test of the MMS equipment under the direction of their supervisor (Senior Engineer).

· Carry out work in accordance with authorized procedures and publications. Observe rules and regulations.

· Ensure efficient and correct use of spares.

· Use tools and equipment correctly. Responsible for accountability, serviceability and safe keeping of tools.

· Health and safety- follow all MMS health and safety regulations.

· Highlight any defect or damage which affects the safety and reliability of equipment and spares.

· Bring to the immediate attention of superiors of any circumstances which affect the safety of personnel and equipment and operational readiness of MMS organizational.

· Observation and recommendations- Bring to the attention of Senior Staff Engineer or Senior Engineer any shortcoming which affects the efficiency of this department.

Requirements:

· Have experience in welding and fabrication and high level of personal initiative.

· Able to work with minimal supervision.

· Very good knowledge and vast experience and certification in the welding process.

· Conversant with occupational health and safety environment (OHS)

· Ability in various types of welding techniques.

· Have working knowledge of ship construction and ship maintenance repair.

· Resilient, diligent and continuously developing in technical requirement.

Education/Professional Qualification/Experience:

· The certificate from BDVTEC in Basic Welding Level, Metal Fabrication, Marker Fitter.

· AWS Certified welder (preferred)

· Related naval or shipyard work experiences

· Apprenticeship program or I-Ready program
