Job Openings Portfolio General Manager, Amazon Brands

About the job Portfolio General Manager, Amazon Brands

We are building a new division focused on a portfolio of 18 Amazon brands across US and EU marketplaces. This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity to take full ownership of a standalone business unit, build your own team of 3 to 5 Brand Managers plus supporting specialists, and run it like your own company. You will own the full P&L, set the strategy, hire your people, and be measured on results. If you have been waiting for the chance to run something end to end without corporate red tape, this is it.

Portfolio Overview

EU Portfolio (7 brands):

Seven brands operating across multiple EU marketplaces. Categories include gardening, kitchen, beauty, pet, and home. The EU portfolio has strong brand recognition and meaningful revenue, and is ready for the right operator to optimize PPC, refresh listings, and tighten operations. Some products have EU-specific sourcing and packaging requirements, plus a Germany-based warehouse.

US Portfolio (11 brands):

Eleven brands on the US marketplace spanning arts and crafts, home, beauty, and toys. Standard FBA fulfillment with significant optimization upside across PPC and listings.

What You Own

Full P&L Ownership

  • Own revenue, margins, and profitability targets for all 18 brands across US and EU
  • Build and present weekly/monthly reporting to CEO covering revenue, PPC performance, inventory health, and margin trends
  • Make budget allocation decisions across brands based on performance data: where to invest PPC spend, where to cut, where to kill
  • Manage total portfolio team budget of approximately $9,000 to $12,000/month

PPC and Revenue Growth (Priority #1)

  • Several brands in the portfolio have significant PPC upside. Campaigns need to be rebuilt or scaled aggressively. Revenue growth through advertising is the top priority and the fastest lever you will pull.
  • Develop and execute a phased PPC optimization plan, starting with highest-potential ASINs and expanding based on ROAS data
  • Manage or directly oversee the dedicated PPC specialist on your team
  • Set PPC budgets, ACOS/TACOS targets, and bid strategies by brand and marketplace
  • Use SQP reports and search analytics to diagnose traffic and conversion issues at the ASIN level

Listing and Brand Health

  • Audit all 18 brands for listing quality: titles, bullets, A+ content, images, backend keywords
  • Prioritize listing optimization based on revenue impact
  • Develop strategies to strengthen review profiles and maintain strong visibility across the catalog
  • Monitor and resolve listing suppressions, stranded inventory, and catalog issues

EU Operations Management

  • Coordinate with European warehouse in Germany for inventory storage and FBA shipments
  • Manage EU supplier relationships, including products with local sourcing and packaging requirements
  • Oversee VAT compliance coordination across multiple EU countries (working with external tax advisor)
  • Handle inventory health management and make data-driven decisions on stock optimization

Team Building and Management

  • Build and lead a team of 3 to 5 Brand Managers, a dedicated PPC Specialist, EU Operations support, and Graphics/Creative resources. You decide the structure, you make the hires.
  • Set KPIs, run weekly standups, and hold the team accountable to deadlines and quality standards
  • Full hiring authority for your team. We provide the budget, you build the roster.

Requirements

Must-Have

  • 3+ years managing Amazon FBA brands with direct P&L responsibility (not just PPC or listing work in isolation)
  • Experience managing brands on EU Amazon marketplaces. You must understand EU marketplace dynamics, not just US.
  • Proven ability to manage and grow PPC campaigns at scale. You should be able to look at a Search Query Performance report and identify what went wrong and what to do about it.
  • Experience managing a remote team of 3+ people. You will be hiring and managing your own team, not just executing tasks yourself.
  • Strong English communication (written and verbal). You will be reporting directly to the CEO with daily Slack updates and weekly calls.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and moving fast. Some of these brands have untapped potential that needs the right operator to unlock. You need to diagnose, decide, and execute without waiting for permission.

Strong Plus

  • Experience taking underperforming brands and scaling them (rebuilding rankings, growing organic traffic, improving conversion)
  • Familiarity with Amazon gardening, home, or beauty categories
  • Experience with VAT compliance across EU countries
  • Background in multi-brand portfolio management (5+ brands simultaneously)
  • Experience with inventory management, landed cost analysis, and COGS optimization
  • Familiarity with Helium 10, DataDive, or similar Amazon analytics tools

What This Role Is Not

This is not a task executor role where someone hands you a checklist every morning. This is not a single-brand manager position. This is not a PPC specialist role (you will have one reporting to you). You are building and running a standalone business unit with real P&L ownership, real hiring authority, and real accountability. If you want autonomy and the chance to prove what you can do when nobody is micromanaging you, keep reading.
