We are a portfolio of fast-growing e-commerce businesses with $10M+ in combined annual revenue, selling across Amazon and DTC channels. Were looking for a Finance Manager / Controller who can take full ownership of our finance function. This is a hands-on role covering everything from bookkeeping oversight to financial reporting, cash flow management, compliance, and profitability analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Reporting (40%)

  • Own monthly financial close and prepare accurate P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements

  • Review and validate Bookkeeper entries for accuracy and classification

  • Conduct variance analysis vs. budget and prior periods with clear narratives and recommendations

  • Deliver monthly reports and dashboards for leadership

Profitability & Cost Analysis (25%)

  • Track SKU-level profitability (fees, shipping, PPC, returns, storage)

  • Evaluate marketing spend and PPC ROI, identifying opportunities to improve margins

  • Monitor inventory-related costs (unsellable returns, lost goods, excess fees)

  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and margin optimization strategies

Cash Flow & Budgeting (20%)

  • Maintain weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts

  • Integrate supplier payments, payroll, and marketing spend into forecasts

  • Monitor exchange rate exposure (CNY/USD) and adjust pricing/procurement guidance

  • Manage budget vs. actuals and highlight risks with recommended actions

Strategic Finance & Compliance (15%)

Support quarterly and annual planning, product ROI, and scenario modeling

  1. Manage VAT compliance for UK and Germany

  2. Prepare ad hoc financial models and reports for new opportunities and business decisions

  3. Establish financial controls and best practices for scalability

Key Deliverables

  • Weekly: Sales summaries, PPC ROI analysis, cash flow updates, supplier payment schedules

  • Monthly: P&L, BS, CF reporting, variance analysis, SKU profitability reports, VAT compliance review

  • Quarterly: Strategic financial reviews, cost-saving recommendations, updated budgets/forecasts

Tools Youll Use

  • QuickBooks Online (required)

  • Google Sheets/Excel (required)

  • Power BI (preferred)

  • SQL/Python (bonus, not required)

  • ClickUp for process and deliverable management

KPIs

  • 100% accuracy in monthly reporting and compliance

  • 90%+ forecast accuracy (sales and cash flow)

  • On-time delivery of all recurring reports

  • <5% variance vs. budget across products and PPC spend

  • At least 3 cost-saving or profitability improvement actions per quarter

Who You Are

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (CPA/CMA a plus, but not required)

  • 5+ years in finance/accounting, ideally in inventory-based or e-commerce businesses

  • Skilled in financial reporting, bookkeeping review, and cash flow management

  • Strong analytical and communication skills, able to simplify complex data for decision-makers

  • Self-starter who thrives in a remote, fast-paced environment

  • Nice to Have: experience with Amazon/e-commerce metrics, dashboarding (Power BI), SQL/Python
