 Job Description:

Job Purpose:

  • To control and oversee lawsuits, draw up legal documents, advise clients and internal departments as to legal rights and obligations, and practice other aspects of law as required, to gather evidence in the cases to formulate defense or to initiate legal action.
  • Proactively counsel the company`s management with respect to compliance and adherence with all relevant laws and legislation
  • To uphold the company's governance and ethics, and operating policies and conform with the department`s rules and regulations.

Primary Duties Performed:
Conducts research, convenes with and interviews colleagues, clients, and witnesses, and handles other details in preparation for litigation and consultation.
Prepares legal briefs, develops strategy, and arguments, and assesses evidence in preparation for presentation of the case. Files briefs with external lawyers or court as instructed.
Represents the company before quasi-judicial or administrative agencies of government.
Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
Confers with colleagues with a specialty in the area of lawsuits to establish and verify the basis for legal proceedings.
Advises corporate clients concerning transactions of business involving internal affairs, stockholders, directors, officers, and corporate relations with the public.
Analyzes the probable outcomes of cases and potential claims, using knowledge of legal precedents.
Advises the company and its affiliates concerning business transactions, claim liability, the advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, and entering into agreements or legal rights and obligations.
Assists in any other capacity, as the Management requires.
Takes part in archiving and managing the case filling system in large volume- under the deputy manager's supervision, and communicates with defense counsels on inquiries, deadlines, and updates promptly.
Conducts annual training to reduce liability in the case of any mistakes and to develop required specific knowledge and skills.
Reviews and updates key workplace governance and compliance rules and regulations manuals and related documents, while creating, organizing, and generating reference tools for easy use by the team members.
