Location: Chantilly, VA (Up to 50% CONUS & OCONUS Travel)

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Support Engineer to join their team in Chantilly, VA. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful deployment and ongoing support of advanced 4G/LTE and 5G communication solutions for their defense sector clients. The ideal candidate will provide expert technical support, conduct in-depth training, and demonstrate our products capabilities both remotely and onsite. By maintaining strong client relationships and staying abreast of technological advancements, the Field Support Engineer plays a critical role in enhancing mission success and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

System Integration & Support

  • Collaborate with defense clients to integrate 4G/LTE and 5G solutions into existing infrastructures.
  • Lead the installation, configuration, and testing of communication systems.
  • Customize systems to meet specific mission-critical requirements.
  • Provide technical support, both remotely and onsite, to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

Training & Documentation

  • Deliver hands-on training sessions to clients on system operation and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain user guides, training materials, and technical documentation.
  • Update clients on new features and best practices through continuous training initiatives.

Customer Engagement

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customer inquiries.
  • Foster strong customer relationships through proactive support and feedback collection.
  • Partner with product teams to relay client insights for continuous improvement.

Technical Sales Support

  • Assist sales teams with product demonstrations and technical presentations.
  • Contribute to solution design and proposal development during pre-sales engagements.
  • Participate in client meetings to identify needs and propose effective solutions.

Product Expertise & Industry Awareness

  • Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of support activities and technical findings.
  • Tailor product demonstrations to address the unique needs of defense clients.

Other Duties

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.


Work Environment

  • Flexible work model including remote work and onsite client engagements.
  • Frequent visits to defense-related sites, including military bases and remote locations.
  • Must be prepared for outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Regular interaction with technical equipment and secure environments.
  • Domestic and potential international travel required.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field (experience may substitute for education).
  • Certifications (Preferred): CCNA, CWNP, CompTIA Network+/Security+, CLP, relevant 5G or military communications certifications.
  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years in technical support or systems integration, with specific expertise in 4G/LTE and 5G technologies.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and transport equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in various field conditions, including extended periods on foot.
  • Manual dexterity for handling technical tools and components.
  • Ability to read technical documents and interface with computer systems effectively.

Additional Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
  • Valid U.S. Drivers License.
  • Flexible travel schedule, including potential overnight and international assignments.
