The Convergence Foundation (TCF) is an Indian philanthropic foundation established by Ashish and Manisha Dhawan in April 2021. TCF builds on their legacy of impactful philanthropy, including the founding of transformative institutions like Ashoka University and the Central Square Foundation.

We believe that the government is the key actor for system change, and the role of philanthropy and nonprofits is to strategically support the government. The TCF Network includes 20+ organisations all working systemically with the government, committed to addressing specific areas of India's socio-economic development, across our three pillars.
Position Summary:
TCF Network orgs began their journey more than a decade ago with Central Square Foundation (CSF), gradually taking small steps towards establishing credibility for both their value proposition and effective communication of their stories. Today, many organisations have demonstrated proof of concept and are starting to scale up. As they scale, the opportunity to leverage technology and AI to amplify their impact is immense.
For example, CSF has pioneered multiple products under their Ed-Tech vertical. Our ambition is to inspire and encourage adoption across our network of 20+ organisations and help them become AI-native organisations. Meanwhile, Centre for Effectiveness of Indian States (CEGIS) has identified catalytic use-cases of AI in improving personnel management within government, and gathering citizens voices to improve public services delivery. Similarly, Air Pollution Action Group (APAG) is leveraging large-scale datasets to improve their dispersible sources program combating air pollution.
The role would entail:
- Serving as a thought and execution partner to portfolio organisations in identifying high-potential technology and AI use-cases that can unlock large-scale social impact
- Leading product development and adoption of identified use-cases. This includes working with organisations in building or procuring products, and if required, connecting them with developers, funders, and implementation partners who can accelerate execution.
The role will report to the Head, Strategy & Investments, but primarily work with counterparts and subject-matter experts in portfolio organisations. Currently this is seen as an Individual Contributor role. However, there will be flexibility in hiring contract resources for individual projects. Initially, focused on use-cases for 1-2 organisations, if required will expand to building digital public goods, usable across the TCF Network, and the wider ecosystem. Well be sharing the use-cases the Product Manager will be expected to pick up on priority with shortlisted candidates. Were also open to considering more senior hires where experience and overall fit justify it.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 5+ years of experience building technology solutions, preferably in tech-for-good, international development, or mission-driven contexts.
- Demonstrated understanding of AI tools and technologies, managing large-scale datasets, ideally with experience in integrating them into delivery in social sector settings.
- Experience in managing technology partners, identifying correct partners, negotiating appropriate pricing, and ensuring development timelines are met.
- Entrepreneurial ability to build in resource-constrained settings, via academic partnerships, short-term hires, etc.
- Collaborative mindset, comfortable working with diverse stakeholders across philanthropy, government, and the private sector.
