Panel Beater

The Role

The main purpose of a Vospers Panel Beater is to carry out repairs to customer vehicles in a professional, efficient and safe manner, ensuring the highest standard of customer satisfaction.

• Remove all parts and panels in accordance with the estimate.

• Ensure all new parts that are required have been ordered, reconciled and authorised by a Supervisor or Management.

• Store all removed parts in line with department safety requirements.

• Report any items found to be damaged to the Estimator or Controller.

• Carry out rust protection to repairs to maintain the manufacturers corrosion warranty.

• Carry out welding and plastic welding techniques in accordance with Thatcham, Insurance Company guidelines, manufacturer methodologies or Company standards.

• Ensure the job is completed right first time to eliminate wastage.

• Complete finals checks and road test the vehicle if necessary before handover back to the customer.

• Sign off work as it is completed and pass to supervisor for quality check.

• Maintain knowledge of technological developments through attending courses as required by the Manager.

• Keep an accurate and comprehensive list of additional parts that are required.

• Confirm that the vehicle is protected from further damage, for example, repairs permitting: windows are kept closed, open apertures are masked off, seat covers and steering wheel covers are fitted and plastic protection sheet is in place during all stages of repair.
